For cleaning the chaps:
Clean your chaps with a damp cloth after each session (mud and sweat are very aggressive for leather). You should then moisturize your leather with a specific cream like the cream for leathers Ego7 for example. Make sure to cover the entire chap with this cream to properly hydrate it; do not hesitate to use a brush. Once the cream is applied, you can then polish the chaps with a wool cloth. This will help absorb the moisturizing cream and make the leather soft and smooth. Once this is done, let your chaps dry in a dry, cool, and especially ventilated place. It is important to keep them away from direct heat or light, as this will help prevent cracking.

For the zipper:
Help the zipper with your fingers when you wear them for the first time without forcing or pulling too hard to avoid excessive tension. Always ensure that the zipper is completely open when putting on/taking off your chaps. Cleaning the zipper is an important point; if there is dirt like grease or sweat, it could prevent the normal opening/closing of the zipper and it could eventually crack or suddenly jam. Also, make sure that your clothing or anything else does not get caught in the zipper mechanism.
