OHLALA AT THE LYON HORSE SHOW? 🤯

YAYYYYY IT'S CONFIRMED

We will be present for the first time in our short existence at the Lyon Horse Show for this 2021 edition!

But you are starting to know us and you know very well that "Ohlala Sellerie" rhymes quite well with "it wasn't really planned"!

So it's time for a 100% us STORY TIME ... 🧡

To start we just blew out our third candle 🕯  and dreamed (because yes, we dream big) since the first day of our online saddlery to move from virtual to physical through this mythical meeting that sounds like an inevitable annual gathering bringing together riders from all corners of France 🇫🇷 

So we took the initiative to try and get a little stand ready to welcome your favorite online saddlery. Unfortunately, this show is so essential that all the spots were booked! 🙈

Several months later, here we are at D-6 from the opening of the show and our thoughts are entirely focused on the construction and moving of a brand new warehouse as well as organizing the surprises we have in mind for the end of year celebrations. What was our surprise when the good news came? An unexpected phone call informs us that a stand will finally be unoccupied! Without hesitation, we needed no more to start the preparations. The move and the show will take place in the same week? Perfect, it’s a challenge we are going to love taking on! 💪 

 

First step: THE STAND!

D-6 before the opening of the show, today's goal: to adapt our old stand (custom made for the Paris horse show) to this new challenge. We will need to gain 8m2 because this new location is slightly smaller, and (strangely) we are not allowed to take over the common aisles! So here we go, the kit stand loaded in the horse truck, heading to the new warehouse  (in the middle of ongoing work) to raise the structure and modify it before the big departure. 🚚 

An additional difficulty? We do not have "step-by-step plans" as we know them thanks to a rather well-known Swedish furniture dealer, and it is by centralizing all our memories while taking a look at our old stories that the reconstruction is carried out. The stand is on foot, the modifications are made, the dimensions are readjusted, all that remains is to "take it apart" again (with solid plans this time), the stand? IT'S DONE ! 👌 

 

Second step: THE SELECTION OF GEMS TO EXHIBIT ...

J-5 before the opening of the trade show, we have a stand (that's already something), we have shelves (cool) ... But we don't have any products (uh, that's a real issue)! Again, the team gets to work and makes a "heartbreaking" selection. We won't be able to store all the favorites we share with you on social media every day, but we will offer as many as possible, a lot of rugs, essential care products that seem indispensable, airbag vests Hit Air for safety, socks, treats, brushes, there you go, the selection is made, you can find it right here :) 💖 

  

Third step: THE DECOR

J-4 before the opening of the trade show, it's time to beautify our stand to welcome you into our universe filled with love, ribbons, and flowers that make our reputation. No worries, we are collecting all the pieces that adorn our looks on instagram and planning some ✨ ADDITIONAL SURPRISES ✨ for a stand worthy of a Pinterest post. (but I won't spoil the surprise for you and won't say more until the photos are released, stay tuned for our Instagram stories). 🎉

Fourth step: BUT WHO'S GOING BY THE WAY?

3 days before the opening of thefair ... Well, the flower pots 🌻 in the decor are nice, BUT we need to think about having some humans at this booth to welcome you... So, will they go or not? Unfortunately, we can't all come down to meet you for several reasons:

1. The "warehouse" team absolutely must stay in Cholet to continue preparing your lovely packages with love 📦

2. The "Customer Support" team won't be moving either: the girls need to be there to answer all day to your little questions on chat and your phone calls 📞

3. The "social media" team needs to be everywhere: one person here to share our news, our good deals, stunning looks, updates about our horses, etc., and one person in Lyon to share the backstage 📸

4. A few pairs of hands will be useful here, don't forget the move that is happening alongside the fair! 🙏

Thus, the decision is made: Clara, Elsa, and Thifaine (the first to believe in the feasibility of the project) will be the first to head south, where they will meet reinforcements who are kindly helping us!

So off they go for a few hours of driving and they arrive safely! 🚃

No time to waste, as soon as they arrive, they will be busy setting up the booth. The plans are practical, the wooden boards fit quickly and here is their new "home" for the coming week.

Fifth step: AND WE DECORATE AND WE EXHIBIT

D-2 before the opening of the show, today itself finally! The girls have been busy all day, the booth is coming to life, the products are starting to be displayed, the decor is taking shape ... And Clara is sharing her little misadventure of the day at the beginning of the afternoon! Quick as lightning ⚡️, she takes a slightly too tight turn with her personal vehicle: the pallet truck. And here she is caught in a rather overwhelming movement, the pallet takes off and all the pretty carpets GEM Equestrian and Kentucky Horsewear she was transporting spread out on the ground 🤦‍♀️ My little devilish 😈 side makes me clarify that Clara does not have her driver's license, coincidence, huh?! Good question 🤣

Here we are, the project IS crazy, for now everything is happening exactly as NOT planned but that's what makes us thrill, in two days the show opens its doors, we meet you again after such a long time and that is worth all the fatigue in the world 🌍
