Whether they are classic, original, sober, colorful, printed, with rhinestones, with pearls, in velvet, etc. We are ALL fans of 🧡 R U G S 🧡 ... Because yes, often "rider" rhymes with "collector" from saddle pad !
Of course, to keep my rug ✨favorite✨ looking new for as long as possible, I will need to clean it quite frequently 🧼 ! Because beyond being a real fashion piece that is an integral part of my outfit every ride, it is primarily the one we send to the front line to absorb the abundant sweat and millions of hairs from our four-legged companions!
How often should we wash our rugs completely? 🧐 Well, it depends on our frequency of use, but also on the conditions in which we use them (in summer ☀️, we will wash more often because horses tend to wet the saddle pad much more 💦 ) !
Basically, washing my rug systematically is not really useful 🤗, but on the other hand, we should not wait until it can stand on its own like a little tripod 😅
So, let's roll up our sleeves and LET'S GO 🎯 to maintain these pretty rugs and make them as new as when I received them in my love package Ohlala (minus the silk ribbon perhaps 🤣) !
To start, a little brush stroke 🧹 daily will do more than a big cleaning once a year ... If not once every two years (let's be honest, we always feel lazy !) 😑
Thus, as soon as I finish my exhausting mounting session in the arena, I carefully dry my rug inside out and not in full sun 🌞 (we shouldn't let it lose its color, though!), to allow some of the sweat to evaporate, that's already what won't remain soaked in my linings !
Once everything is completely dry, I shake it vigorously to make some of the hair fly away, then I arm myself with a brush, whether it's a soft brush, a cork, or (the best of the best for me for this job) a Magic Brush! A little stroke inside my rug, without going too énergiquement 🌪 so as not to damage the seams, and there I am rid of a large majority of the hair! 🤜🏼🤛🏼
If every time we step down we adopt these two simple little gestures, it will allow us to space out the big cleaning!
To preserve the breathable properties 🌬 of my rug, it is essential to give it an occasional big bath in my washing machine 🧽 (yes, simply!) ...
We slip them into the drum, add some natural detergent 🧴 (but no fabric softener so that our horses don't have an allergic reaction!), we set the cycle to 30 degrees MAXIMUM and especially SANS TUMBLE DRYER!
For drying? Simply in the open air! 💨
THE CHEF'S TIP : we also slide in washing balls LeMieux that will allow us to remove even more hair and stains , but also to make our carpet more flexible 🥰 and that is clearly the goal of the operation! 🙈
It's done, the game is played 👏 ! We are off for a few exploits in the arena, immortalized for the networks, with a carpet newer than new and a top-notch look!

If you prefer, you can also wash your carpets by hand! A soft brush, some Marseille soap, a bit of patience and energy in your arms, and here is a just as conclusive result :)
YOU KNOW EVERYTHING
No more excuses, it’s up to us to get to work (pun intended!) both for the aesthetics and for the comfort of the horse that will have the chance to wear all your favorite colors! 🎈
